Residing in underserved communities can make youth more susceptible to succumbing to the negative influences they encounter. However, with motivation, resiliency, and mentorship, many of these youth can bypass these situations and become leaders in their respective schools and neighborhoods. Created in 2022, specifically for current 7th and 8th grade students, the Career Development Academy (CDA) strives to introduce participants to skills, tools, and a mindset necessary for successful academic growth, career preparation, planning, and advancement. This program aims to provide critical leadership and mentoring experience for these promising young people.
