w.e.b. dU bOIS sCHOLARS iNSTITUTE: 2021 ONLINE SUMMER PROGRAM!

In light of the pandemic, the Summer Institute will not be held at Princeton University. Instead we will be running the W.E.B. Du Bois Scholars Institute: Online Summer Program this summer!

The 2021 Online Summer Program Deadlines

We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider applicants with strong qualifications through Monday April 12, 2021. Rolling admissions thereafter will be based on available space. As such, we strongly encourage students to submit applications as soon as possible. Following the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be invited to participate in a virtual interview April 15th - April 21st . Finalists will be notified of placement in course(s) by April 28, 2021. 

Program Duration

The Online Summer Program will operate from June 28, 2021 to July 26, 2021. It will consist of 3 Academic Sessions. Students can apply for various courses held in each session. Please visit our “Academies” page to view the courses offered in each session and accompanying course descriptions.

Session 1: June 28th – July 6th  (5 courses available)

Session 2: June 7th – July 15th (6 courses available)

Session 3: July 16th – July 26th (6 courses available)


Course Duration & Cost:
Each course operates over 7 class days (EXCLUDING WEEKENDS). Each class meeting is 90 minutes a day. Students can apply for more than one course. However, given that space in each course is limited to 20 students, finalists will be assigned to a course before additional courses are granted. The total cost for each student participating in the Online Summer Program will be $300.00 per course. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a digital certificate of program completion.

The Accelerated Learning Academy (for 8th & 9th Graders)

Deadlines

Due to COVID-19, the 2021 ALA Program will be an online program. We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider applicants with strong qualifications. The submission deadline for the application, transcript, two letters of recommendation and essay is February 3, 2021. Following the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be will be virtually interviewed between February 5th and February 11th. Students will be informed of acceptance into the program by February 12th. Students accepted into the ALA will be expected to inform us of their decision to enter the program by February 15, 2021. 

The Accelerated Learning Academy will be in session from March 12-14, 2021 April 9-11, 2021; and May 14-16, 2021.

The Accelerated Learning Academy (for 10th & 11th Graders)

Due to COVID-19, the 2020-2021 ALA Program will be an online program. We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider applicants with strong qualifications. The submission deadline for the application, transcript, two letters of recommendation and essay is  Friday, December 11, 2020. Following the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be will be virtually interviewed between December 12 and December 17, 2020. Students will be informed of acceptance into the program by Friday December 18, 2020. Students accepted into the ALA will be expected to inform us of their decision to enter the program by Monday December 21, 2020. Complete program payment will need to be received by January 2, 2021.

The Accelerated Learning Academy online program will be in session from January 8-10, 2021 February 26-28, 2021; and April 23-25, 2021.
