w.e.b. dU bOIS sCHOLARS iNSTITUTE: 2022 ONLINE SUMMER PROGRAM!

In light of the pandemic, the Summer Institute will not be held at Princeton University. Instead, we will be running the W.E.B. Du Bois Scholars Institute: Online Summer Program this summer!

The 2022 Online Summer Program Deadlines

We will consider applicants with strong qualifications via rolling admissions!  As such, we strongly encourage students to submit applications as soon as possibleFollowing the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be invited to participate in a virtual interview. Thereafter, finalists will be notified of placement in course(s).  

Program Duration

The Online Summer Program will operate from June 27, 2022 to July 26, 2022. It will consist of 3 Academic Sessions. Students can apply for various courses held in each session. Please visit our “Academies” page to view the courses offered in each session and accompanying course descriptions.

Session 1: June 27th – July 6th  (5 courses available)

Session 2: June 7th – July 15th (6 courses available)

Session 3: July 18th – July 26th (5 courses available)


Course Duration & Cost:
Each course operates over 7 class days (EXCLUDING WEEKENDS & July 4th). Each class meeting is 90 minutes a day. Students can apply for more than one course. However, given that space in each course is limited to 20 students, finalists will be assigned to a course before additional courses are granted. Rolling admissions thereafter will be based on available space. The total cost for each student participating in the Online Summer Program will be $350.00 per course. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a digital certificate of program completion.

The Career Development Academy (for 7th & 8th Grade Trenton Youth)

Deadlines 

Due to COVID-19, the 2022 Career Development Academy (CDA), specifically for youth who live in Trenton, NJ, will be an online program. We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider applicants with strong qualifications. The submission deadline for the application, latest report card and essay is April 24, 2022. Following the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be virtually interviewed at the Orientation and Screening program on May 7th. Students will be informed of acceptance into the program by May 10th. Students accepted into the program will be expected to inform us of their decision to enter the program by May 12, 2022. Program participation is covered by a philanthropic grant, so there is no charge for participants!


The Career Development Academy will be in session on the following Saturdays: May 21st, May 28th, June 4th, June 11th, and June 18th.



The Accelerated Learning Academy (for 8th & 9th Graders)

Deadlines

Due to COVID-19, the 2022 ALA Program will be an online program. We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider applicants with strong qualifications. The submission deadline for the application, transcript, two letters of recommendation and essay is February 9, 2022. Following the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be virtually interviewed between February 10th and February 16th. Students will be informed of acceptance into the program by February 17th. Students accepted into the ALA will be expected to inform us of their decision to enter the program by February 21, 2022. Complete program payment will need to be received by March 3, 2022.

The Accelerated Learning Academy will be in session from March 11-13, 2022 April 8-10, 2022; and May 13-15, 2022.

Due to COVID-19, the 2021-2022 ALA Program will be an online program. We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider applicants with strong qualifications. The submission deadline for the application, transcript, two letters of recommendation and essay is  Friday, December 10, 2021. Following the initial application review process, semi-finalists will be virtually interviewed between December 11 and December 16, 2021. Students will be informed of acceptance into the program by Friday, December 17, 2021. Students accepted into the ALA will be expected to inform us of their decision to enter the program by Monday, December 20, 2021. Complete program payment will need to be received by January 2, 2022.

The Accelerated Learning Academy online program will be in session from January 7-9, 2022 February 25-27, 2022; and April 22-24, 2022.
