2024 Summer Institute: Pre-Scholars

Pre-Scholars are rising 8th and rising 9th graders (current 7th-8th graders). The total cost for residential participants is $5,500.* This cost, which must be covered by parents or sponsors, includes tuition, room, board, books, field trips, recreation services, and insurance. Students keep books and other materials provided by the Institute. Students are required to bring their own laptops to participate in the program. The fee for field trips is used to cover all expenses including travel, food, lodging, entertainment, and supervision. Scholarships are not available for Pre-Scholar Academies.

Participants are required to reside in a dorm on campus and participate in both the academic and residential program components. Commuting is not available for participants.

Scholars are rising 10th - rising 12th graders (current 9th-11th graders). The total cost for residential participants is $6,800.* This cost, which must be covered by parents or sponsors, includes tuition, room, board, books, field trips, recreation services, and insurance. Students keep books and other materials provided by the Institute. Students are required to bring their own laptops to participate in the program. The fee for field trips is used to cover all expenses including travel, food, lodging, entertainment, and supervision.

There is a limited number of scholarships available to cover tuition. The scholarship amount will vary according to need with $800 as a maximum award. Priority for scholarships will be given to applications received before March 27, 2024.  

The SAT prep course is optional for an additional $650 fee.

The Career Development Academy: (for 7th & 8th grade Trenton Youth)

The 2022 Career Development Academy (CDA), is an online program. Program participation is covered by a philanthropic grant, so there is no charge to rising 8th-rising 9th grade (current 7th-8th grade) youth who live in Trenton, NJ youth.

For the Accelerated Learning Academy (for 8th & 9th graders)

The Accelerated Learning Academy provides STEM instruction, ongoing academic and college preparation, mentoring, and interaction with world-class scientists throughout the school year. Residential stay for participants throughout the weekend occurs at a hotel in Princeton, NJ. Participants are required to stay at the hotel and participate in both the academic and residential components throughout all three weekends of the program. Commuting is not available for participants.

The program cost, which covers room/board & tuition, field trips, and residential weekend events, is $2,600.  Apply by the early application deadline,  December 18, 2024, by submitting your application and supplementary materials, to receive the premium $1,200 rate. Apply by the regular application deadline,  January 18, 2024, to receive the standard $1,500 rate.

Applicant profiles will be reviewed on a rolling basis upon receipt of the application & supporting materials; therefore, prompt submission of materials is highly recommended. Students will be informed of acceptance into the program by January 29, 2024. Families and students must inform us of their desired attendance by January 31, 2024. Program payment must be completed by February 14, 2024.
